constipation and diarrhea during pregnancy?
I am somewhere between 7 and 8 weeks pregnant and I have had a combination of constipation and diarrhea and I was wondering if this was normal? I don’t remember if this happened or not in my first pregnancy. I remember my other symptoms but not whether or not this happened especially after miscarrying with that pregnancy, I only remember certain things. Thanks in advance for any answers.
Whats good to relieve constipation?
Im 6 months along now and am just having problems trying to poop. This didn’t happen with my first pregnancy. What is a good way to relieve that?

2 missed periods —-?
The last time I skipped two periods was over 2 years ago. Maybe it’s just my body. I’ve gotten about 6 BFN’s & 1 veeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrry faint BFP. As of today, I’ve had these symptoms: constipation, cramping, headaches, no appetite somedays [other days, I'm not hungry, yet I want to eat], back pain, stomach aches, tingling feelings in my hips & legs, nausea, heartburn, gassy, always thirsty, bloating, cravings, uhmm, what am i missing? idk. all of these symptoms have occurred in moderation. oh & usually from OV to the end of my period, my BBs are sore. These past two [MISSED] periods, I haven’t had any soreness.
Now, I haven’t really been thinking about pregnancy bc I got those BFN’s. Just simply taking note of the symptoms I’m having.
Anyone ever experience this or going thru this now? If so, what was your outcome [if you've gone thru this] or how are you feeling [if you're going thru it now]?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
How to ease constipation? Can I take a stool softener?
This is always one of the first symptoms I get and it seems to stay with me until the pregnancy ends. Any tips?
I think I am going with the stool softener (after I call the doctor). I eat healthy but it is not helping…I am so backed up I’m never hungry ![]()
Could my symptoms mean I am pregnant?
For the last two weeks I have been feeling really strange, like I am pregnant. I do take birth control but have been having frequent unprotected sex. Also, I took a pregnancy last week that came out negative, but it said it only works 4 days before a missed period, so I’m fearful I took it too early. Some of my symptoms are constipation, acid indigestion, nausea, extreme fatigue, migraines. Also, the last three days I have had bleeding. It started out as a light brownish spotting, then after sex increased to a heavy menstruation-like bleeding. I’m not due to have my period for another 1 1/2 weeks. Could this be implantation bleeding? Has anyone had a similar experience? I am going to take another test in a few days closer to my missed period, but i’m extremely nervous.
Pregnancy symptoms and bowel changes?
I’ve been reading that its a symptom to have constipation/loose bowels or other changes in color or consistency or frequency early in pregnancy.
I know its asking for some serious TMI, but can any of your relate your experience or any info you know? I’m having spotting and other symptoms, this included and there are definite changes in color and frequency.
What brand of stool softener is safe when pregnant?
I am 13 weeks pregnant and very irregular, bloated, constipated on and off, and very gassy. Is there anything that is safe to take during pregnancy, or has anyone been recommended anything by their own doctor. I go back in a couple weeks and plan on talking to him about it. Just wondering. I know, adding fiber, drinking water, etc is best. But I am just interested in something that will make it a little more "regular" . Thanks
how long do the side effects of a stool softener last?
It is not for a pregnancy. Just in general. Took about 4 of them and it has been 5 days and I am still having side effects.
I took 4 of them over a three day period.
What is the best laxative or stool softener to use during pregnancy?
My doctors office is closed and I don’t see this as one of those emergencies that I should be calling the answering service. I had a list ( that he gave me 8 months ago ) and in my pregnancy airheadedness ( it is an excuse I can use just a couple more weeks ) I have misplaced it. I will probably recognize some of the brands when you guys give me ideas, I just can’t think of them off the top of my head. I want somthing gentle but that works really well. Thanks
I am pregnant with twins and have acutally been using metamucil ( spelling?) and I eat a ton of fresh fruits and veggies, the last time it happened, my doctor said having two babies up there, can sometimes irritate the bowels and make it more difficult, that is when he started me on the metamucil.
I can’t walk, I am on bed rest, I eat a lot of fruit, in fact just shared some watermelon with my kids, drink tons of water, I am in Arizona where is it hot as heck. I am all for the natural remedies, except they are not working right now. Thank you to all who have answered though.
Oh, and I love chamomile tea with honey. I drink a cup every evening to help try ( notice I say try) to relax me.
has anyone had a anal fissure when pregnant because of constipation? doctors tell you that its not dangerous.
i have checked with 2 doctors. treatment has to be done after pregnancy and in the meantime i was told to eat lots of fibre, vegetables, fruits and drink fluids so that my stools are soft. I was also told to use suppositries, but I didn’t because I am scared. I managed to get my stools soft with diet. Please if any pregnant women has the same problem and can help me about some information, if i should worry or not? Thanks in advance.
Hemorrhoid Cure: What Causes Hemorrhoids
locatereviews.com – Learn more about how you can cure hemorrhoids in less than 48 hours. The causes of hemorrhoids include genetic predisposition (weak rectal vein walls and/or valves), excessive time (over 1 minute daily) and straining during bowel movements, and chronic bowel straining or pressure due to poor posture or muscle tone. Constipation, bouts of diarrhea, poor bathroom habits (reading on the toilet or multiple cleaning attempts), pregnancy, and fiber-deprived Western diet can all foster the conditions that cause hemorrhoids. Additional factors that can cause hemorrhoids (mostly by increasing pressure), especially for those with a genetic predisposition, are obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, and especially, vitamin deficiency. A common cause of hemorrhoids is simply the standing position, in which all the blood above the rectum exerts pressure on the rectal and anal areas. Other conditions which contribute to hemorrhoids are: poor bowel habits, constipation, diarrhea, pregnancy, obesity, and especially frequent straining when having a bowel movement. However, some patients will have none of these conditions and still develop hemorrhoids. Humans are prone to hemorrhoids because erect posture puts a lot of pressure on the veins in the anal region. Heredity has also been considered a factor, since hemorrhoids tend to run in families. Chronic constipation is considered a major cause of hemorrhoids. This is because constipated individuals tend to consistently strain …

What is the best thing to relieve and prevent constipation?
I am 13 weeks and I am terribly constipated. I eat grains and drink water but I still go days without using the bathroom and it makes my stomach hurt horribly. Would a stool softener help or if not, what would? I go back to my doctor next week and I plan to ask her then but for now, does anyone who has been through this have any ideas? I never had this problem with my first pregnancy! Thanks!
