Does Nancy Pelosi need more bran or a good laxative?
Take a look at this link

You would think with the liberal power grab over and dodging the bullet of coming up with a bonafide solution to the Iraqi issue(remember that was the initial campaign promise) over you would see her smiling about pulling one over on the american electorate.
Ive seen this look before. First, when my children were learning solid food and this same expression from when we tried a new moist mix for our pooch….the problem seems definite…MORE BRAN, FIBER OR a good laxative. I would be interested in your opinoin.
Question about chronic constipation?
I’m a 20-year-old, otherwise healthy female but I have had chronic constipation for my whole life. As a child I was given every laxative you can think of by my pediatrician but they all made me feel worse than not being on them. At different points in time I was on mineral oil, miralax, metamucil powder and wafers, milk of magnesia liquid and chewable form, senekot, and I’m sure I’m leaving something out. All of this was treatment from both my pediatrician and a pediatric GI specialist when I was about 7 or 8. Anyway, I have a bowel movement once, sometimes twice a week and it’s always very large, dark, and hard. It’s embarrassing but it’s too large to even be flushed and has to be broken up first. And even then, it still clogs the toilet fairly often. I drink water constantly and I try to eat extra fiber but fiber only makes me gassy and uncomfortable but does not help with the bowel movements at all. I am slightly overweight so I know it’s not a malabsorption issue. My Grandfather had ulcerative colitis and my father has Chrone’s Disease and he had colon cancer. Both the opposite of my symptoms. I’m getting frustrated with this. Does anyone have any advice?
What to take when laxatives, prune, fibre vegetables, water…doesnt work?

Is there any way to rinse out your colon with out taking the weight loss supplements?
Such as a lot of fiber or a laxative?
I have a bowel movement once a week, is this normal or should I be concerned?
Keep in mind I am 17 years old and this has been happening for as long as I can remember ( as long as I have been alive ). Nothing is really wrong, sometimes it worries me after the one week mark but that is all. I have taken laxatives and fiber and all that and sure they help the problem after 1-2 days of use but seriously, I cant use laxative the rest of my life and fiber pills cost a shit load. Should I be concerned or just let my body do its thing once a week? Also when I do go my BMs are very large, like above the water in the toilet and I have to plunge every time. Sorry if gross just trying to describe the best I can. Thanks in advance for advice.
Toddler constipation…?
I have a 2 1/2 year old son who has during the past two days been fussy and complaining of pain in the anal area. He started it one night and it usually wakes him up, but he is fine come morning. He very seldomly complains of this during the day. This has been for two whole days now and he has not had a bowel movement. The last one he had seemed to be normal. I gave him a dose of Little Tummy’s laxative yesterday and today, and he has yet to have any sort of bowel movement. He appeared to have started one today, but only a very, very small amount of watery type movement. He never finished. I have not ever had this problem with him. Could this be constipation? Or something more? Any tips on treatment?

Ate too much Halloween candy, will a laxative help?
Hi, I ate too much Halloween candy all day today, way too much. I don’t feel really good. I feel like the worst crash ever. I wanted to know if a laxative will help me get rid of all the candy, or if Fiber will help.
Thanks

Help! I cannot have a regular bowl movement! What is wrong with me?
It has been over a week that I have yet to have a bowl movement. About a week and a half ago, I had a severe case of diarrhea and I resorted in taking some Imodium. After taking my medication, I ceased to have any bowl movements.
I have changed my diet in order to help the situation; I am getting a lot more fiber i.e. Metamucil, but I this did not help. On Tuesday, I decided to take a suppository; I was able to have a bowl movement, however, it was not much. On Wednesday, I decided to take a liquid laxative; I was able to have a couple of bowl movements, but once again it was not much. I don’t know what to do anymore. I was wondering if anyone might have an idea of what is going on with me. Do you think it could possibly be IBS?
Symptoms:
Constipation
Abdominal pain that stings occasionally, especially in the morning
Bloated abdomen
Gaseous

why isnt fiber working for me?
hi, i just have a question regarding fiber and bowel movement. im not constipated or anything like that but i would just like to increase my bowel movements in order to cleanse out my colon and lose a few pounds. people always say eat prunes and fruit or vegetables in general, but this has never helped me. does anybody know of something i could take or eat that isnt a laxative, cause id like to do this naturally. anyone know of anything? thanks.
Is this a constipation symptom?
I need to first say I’m a hypochondriac, so anytime I have a symptom I start totally freaking out that something bad is wrong. This is why I’m asking this question.
I’ve been constipated for about 3 days. I’ve gone a little bit but I push a lot… and I did that earlier today, I pushed more than normal.
Now, about 9 hours later, my lower stomach has a tight, crampy achy pain. Across the whole stomach,… it’s kinda where you would have period cramps at (but it’s not that time of month!) Do you think this is related to the constipation?
Also, I just ate an apple, asapargus, and a bowl of broccoli because the laxative I took did not help. Is there any other home remedy I can do?
Thank you!
And it’s just a mild pain… not bothering me but I def notice it and it’s freaking me out. Thanks!
Natural Laxative?!?!!?
Is warm water, table salt, and lemon a natural safe laxative, and how long does it take to work
is it safe though? and we’re talking about TABLE salt right?
and will it upset my stomach
Would this make a healthy laxative?
I thought about this recently and I am sure this has been thought of before but I want to know if:
Blending a vine of grapes, some kiwi, Prune Juice, little ice, some sherbet ice cream and some powdered fiber would make a healthy laxative?
is it safe to take castor oil as a laxative?
i suffer from chronic constipation despite a healthy high fibre diet and drinking plenty of water. i just wondered does anybody know if castor oil is safe to use as a laxative?
Why won't my stomach pain go away?
Since this past Friday I have had a really bad pain in my stomach just below my belly button. I thought the pain might be due to my constipation that I had been experiencing so I took a laxative. The laxative worked but the pain did not go away. So by Sunday after the pain had become worse I was afraid it might be my appendix. I went to the doctor. They tested my blood and a urine sample. All tests came back negative. They couldn’t find what was wrong so they sent me home with a prescription for Vicodin. The pain still continues even through taking the pain killers. In addition to all of this I have had a substantial amount of weight gain…about 10 pounds in about 2 weeks even though I’m not eating a lot. I would also say that the pain becomes worse after I eat. What could be causing this????
Symptoms:
Constipation
Weight gain
pain in lower abdomen (just under the belly button) pain made worse my pressure/movement/eating
decreased appetite
Doctor has tested:
Blood sample
Urine sample
all tests came back negative for any abnormalities.
Any ideas about what might be going on would be greatly appreciated!!!
Miralax v.s. Milk of Magnesium?
My son is 9 months old and constipated. If he does go poo, its very hard. And he cries because it hurts so bad. I contacted the dr. and they said to use miralax. I have some milk of magnesium here. Is milk of magnesium and miralax the same thing? We have tried all the suppositories, prune juice, water…you name it we have tried it. And nothing is helping him. I only want to use whatever will help him the quickest and will not hurt his tummy
well i did not use the miralax. I found a baby laxative that cost less, and was root beer flavored, so he took it no problem. And NO I DONT NEED A NEW DOCTOR!!! I even asked a few registerd nurses and tehy said 1/4 of a tsp SPARINGLY…… So my suggestion before you talk about drs, is it YOU with the degree??EXACTLY…. Anywho i did not use the miralax, but this baby laxative that worked wonders. Thanks all to you for your suggestions

Which Works Betters? Milk of Magnesia -or- Magnesium Citrate?
I’ve had some cramps for the past few days and at first I took an anti-gas (simethicone). It’s helped a little but not much at all. I’ve noticed i’m having trouble using the restroom so I wanna give a laxative a try before going to see a doctor.
Which is more effective? Milk of Magnesia or Magnesium Citrate?
Something that doesn’t produce cramps or stomach pains would be nice, since I already have that, I don’t want to exacerbate it.
i have a question about food and fiber?
i don,t think i get enough fiber in my diet. what i want to ask you is what kind of food is high in fiber that,s a good laxative? i know about fruit and vegetables, but what kind of cereal that,s good to loosen the colon? when i do eat meat, what about fish, will it hurt the digestion system? and 1 more thing, what about dairy products? are they good for you? thanks people! have a nice day.
Metamucil as a fiber source supplement?
I know that Americans are woefully short of the desired amount of fiber in the diet. I have been told by a few people at the gym that Metamucil is an acceptable fiber supplement. I know that it is marketed as both a supplement and also as a laxative and the directions for use vary depending on what the intention is. I would like to slowly work up to 35 grams of dietary fiber per day (per the suggestion of many nutritionists).
Has anyone tried using Metamucil as a supplement? Any good/bad experiences (I know it has to be introduced gradually). My ultimate goal would be to use it (along with exercise) to complete a balanced diet. I know that fiber provides a ‘full’ feeling and reduces the urge to eat. I also know that it requires more calories for digesting. Just wondering if anyone has given this a try?
By the way…I will attempt to get most fiber from whole wheat foods, fruit, etc. But would like to supplement w/fiber. It’s kind of tough to get 35g’s in one day w/just food. Unless you eat that rabbit food cereal (Fiber One). Thanks!
