This is a bit of an embarrassing question, but I don’t know if I am constipated or not. Here are the symptoms:
-I have not gone to the bathroom for almost a week, and when I did go, only little round shaped stools came out.
-When I try to go, it kind of hurts.
-I have to admit, I really need to improve my diet.

I have a really constipation and I need help?
I am aware that i need more fibre in my diet, so i did some research.
But the more I researched, the more overwhelmed I am by the information provided to me about insoluble vs. soluble fibre and psyllium husk?
I know that insoluble fibre benefits lean more to promoting regular bowel movement and prevent constipation. Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water. That’s why it adds bulk to the stools and speeds up the passage of stools through the colon.
I’m afraid have taking to much soluble fibre because it forms a gel when mixed with liquid, and it slows down movement?! I don’t know.
I’m currently looking at fibre supplements and i purchased Benefibre which has Inulin fibre… but i think i’m going to return it for some other dietary fibre supplements like Metamucil which has psyllium husk. Is there a differenece? Any suggestions
Please and thank you,
Help! I cannot have a regular bowl movement! What is wrong with me?
It has been over a week that I have yet to have a bowl movement. About a week and a half ago, I had a severe case of diarrhea and I resorted in taking some Imodium. After taking my medication, I ceased to have any bowl movements.
I have changed my diet in order to help the situation; I am getting a lot more fiber i.e. Metamucil, but I this did not help. On Tuesday, I decided to take a suppository; I was able to have a bowl movement, however, it was not much. On Wednesday, I decided to take a liquid laxative; I was able to have a couple of bowl movements, but once again it was not much. I don’t know what to do anymore. I was wondering if anyone might have an idea of what is going on with me. Do you think it could possibly be IBS?
Symptoms:
Constipation
Abdominal pain that stings occasionally, especially in the morning
Bloated abdomen
Gaseous

What do i give my 2 yr old to relieve her constipation?
I have given her all the things that usually give her diarhea, but they aren’t even working. Prune juice did not work out with her–she hates it! Nothing has changed in her diet, she drinks plenty of fluids, and is active. I don’t want to scar her by giving her an enema. Any natural remedies (not enemas or laxatives) would be awesome

Which is the best stool softener for my 2 year old daughter?
Her BM problems have been going on for a long time. Unfortunately doctors ask me to be patient until it gets resolved by itself! She’s not been given any medication till date and its heartbreaking to see my little girl strain herself to have to poop. She hold it back as its so hard and painful…for days together! and finally when she does… it comes out with rectal bleeding! It happens every time! I don’t know what to do. I have tried changing her diet, cutting down dairy, changing routine everything I can think of. Can someone please her me!

Cat Constipation: Nothing is working. What should I do?
My cat has in irregular for the last 3 weeks, going to poop once in 2 days or even 3 days. Prior to this, his long habit was once a day.(He is 8 years old). He has been on wet food only diet since 2 months ago. I also mix water and pumpkin in his wet food.
Still, he doesn’t go regularly. He seems a little inactive than usual although he still has good appetite. His stool is not too hard but shaped in small balls.
Our vet doesn’t worry to much and tells me to observe. The situation is not severe enough to get some treatment like anema but yet it doesn’t improve.
I also give him Laxatone.
Of course, I keep his litter box immaculate.
What is going on with him?

What can a gal with gastroparesis do to ease constipation from lack of fiber?
I have recently been diagnosed with postviral gastroparesis. Although I am tolerating the low fat low diet fairly well (oh how I miss fresh veggies and loathe baby food!), I have developed a strong tendency towards constipation. I believe this is due to the "low fiber" part of my diet. I am a little concerned about this because of a strong family history of colon cancer, and fiber is said to help prevent it… What can I eat or take to relieve the constipation?
My Grandfather (80) Has been struggling from SEVERE constipation. PLEASE HELP!!?
He has Parkinson disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, and a heart condition. He takes several medications a day including pain pills for his back. I know the pain pills can cause constipation, but not to the extremity of it now. He uses enemas, and laxatives, including sorbitol (for severe constipation) and it seems nothing is helping. He occasionally uses hemorrhoid cream as well. He eats lots of T.V dinners, soups, sausage, and processed meats. His diet is horrible, but he is having trouble cooking for himself. He also sits at home in his chair and watches T.V most of the day and has trouble getting any exercise because of his deteriorating muscles. He is week and nauseous most of the time. I am getting ready to move in with him to care for him and am wondering if there is a certain diet that may help, or if it will require treatment from a physician. We have been to several doctors and all they do is change his medicine around. PLEASE I AM DESPERATE!! He needs help.
Question about hemorrhoids and constipation?
I’m 16 and I have frequent constipation. I just recently learned about hemorrhoids and realized I have had them mildly before but I don’t think I have had them as bad as I do now. Although I don’t think I even have them that bad now. I have to small bumps around the rim and they get bigger when I try to go to the bathroom and then I just get paranoid and and not go. With them this small (the size of a dime at their biggest) what kind of treatment should I give? Will they go away on their own? What will happen to them when I poo? They don’t hurt and they don’t feel uncomfortable. They don’t bleed either. I believe I got them from when I last went I pushed too hard and bad diet but I’m already on track to good diet and tons of water + fiber.
How can I relieve my chronic constipation?
Ever since I was born, I’ve always had a chronic constipation problem. I contribute lots of fiber in my diet, lots of fruits and vegetables, grains, whole wheat breads and cereals, I take a mild laxative, and stool softener each morning to help. I also
chew fiber chews as well. I can sometimes go 14 days without a bowel movement, and it’s a very hard, dry stool which is usually quite painful to pass, what can I do that I haven’t already been doing to relieve these symptoms?
Best way to prevent constipation on the Atkin's Diet?
I am on the Atkin’s Diet and I know that when you are on this diet, you get constipated very easily if you’re not careful. I have been trying to drink a glass of juice once in a while to make sure that I’m staying regular and also taking stool softeners. I just wanted to ask… do you think taking stool softeners daily is a bad idea? I read on the bottle to not do it for more than a week unless directed by a doctor and I haven’t been able to see a doctor about this. Or is there another solution? I really can’t drink much juice or muffins or anything like that because of the excessive carbohydrates. Besides plenty of water, anyone have any suggestions? And is taking stool softeners daily okay to do?
