How do I relieve pre menstrual constipation?

Well, the days before my period It seems that I get really constipated. I tried eating extra fiber, but that doesn’t seem to be helping. I tried drinking more water, but that doesn’t help either. Can anyone tell me how to relieve it without laxatives?

Have you tried the fiber PLUS lots of water? I have found that they work much better if you use them both at the same time.
If that doesn’t work, consider a natural laxative, like prune juice. Yeah, it’s old people’s stuff, but it does the job.
Finally, there is the laxative that isn’t a laxative — glycerin suppositories. You can buy them at any pharmacy, and they’re pretty cheap. I like them because you aren’t doing anything to your system. They just go into your bottom. Wait about an hour for them to melt, and you should get relief from the constipation. By the way, glycerin suppositories are sold for babies as well as for adults. I would get the baby kind. They go in more easily, and they work just as well.
Good luck, honey.
I know you said you tried this, but oatmeal has lots of fiber and it can help.
Also, if you don’t want to take laxitives, you can take stuff like BeneFiber or some other thing that dissolves in water. It can help keep you regular.
Stool softerns might also work.
Well, since you’ve already been the fiber and extra water methods, about all I can suggest is abdominal massage. That’s been found in many cases to help with keeping your bowels moving. You might want to look it up on You Tube. There are many good videos on it there. Good luck.
